I finally got that damn 25# charm!!
Can I just tell ya? SQUEEEEEE!!!!
I was so happy, I made a goal. It took forevah.. but I did it!
Now I just have to get another one.. and I will be a lifetime member of Weight Watchers! Which means.. free!!

The meeting topic was about Positive self talk.
How easy is it to make bad or negative comments about ourselves? I do it constantly. All day long.
How hard would it be to change a few of those.. gradually increasing so everything we think or say about ourselves.. is positive?

so every time I want to wander in and grab something I am not supposed to have..

I went to yoga.. the teenager wanted to go and her friend came.. he loved it! How cute is that? (He wants to go to Zumba with us this week too) tee-hee
then..
went home..
cleaned the house..
went back to the rec..
jogged..
did the elliptical..
went grocery shopping
did laundry..
played with my puppy..
where is the rest in this day?
Idk.
but I felt awesome..
I am having a hard time (I really really don't want to sound like one of those whiny teenagers who says I'm too fat when I really need to eat more)
but I can't get enough calories in with my exercise.
But I am not willing to give up my exercise.
I know what to do.. I just don't.
ugh!
since starting to use my fitness pal
I can see EXACTLY what goes in and out..
and I am always getting the warning.. You are not consuming enough calories. You are in danger of putting your body in Starvation mode..
all I can think of is more veggies..more protein. With Body For Life.. it is pretty restrictive.. so I really have to watch it.. and not eating meat.. doesn't help either.
I think I am doing pretty well so far.
down 5.4 pounds in two weeks..no?
This is also the final post for slimmer this summer
I struggled with remembering to link my posts.. but I've always been here!
I think I'm down a total of 9.2 pounds since this began.. not too shabby?

upper body workout
here's my upper body workout I did yesterday..
seriously.. I am rocking this!
I was a bit sore almost immediately after.. which is a good sign, no?
dumbbell incline press 12x15 10x15 8x20 6x20 12x15

Lat pulldowns 12x50 10x60 8x70 6x80 12x60
cable rows 12x70
Front raises 12x10 10x15 8x15 6x20 12x10 ( I am still so weak here.. need to work on it)

Week one down.. 11 to go!
good progress so far..
I think I did pretty well on the Body for life plan
I lost 3.6 pounds..
finally.. a loss!
woot!
I hope to lose one or two this week..not planning on a huge loss.. we'll see what happens.
I will try to post my workouts and meal plans as soon as I can..
I have my workouts all written out on index cards to take to the gym.. easy peasy..
that way I don't have to guess or try to remember what I did or need to do..
but.. a loss is a loss.. I'll take it!
this week is going to be a lil harder..
trying to get all my veggies in..
all the protein..
it's a challenge.
but I am so going to do it!

Day four is here!
I know right?
I've stuck with it..
I think dinner is the hardest part of my planning..
during the day is easy peasy... I bring my food.. I grab what I have here..
then.. at home..
there are more choices..
making the fam dinner..
their yummy tacos, pizza n bbq chicken...
I am not going to change what I do.. just how I think about it.
it is, after all,
just food.
so last night I had a small baked potato with cottage cheese n salsa on top..
seriously..
it was gooooood..
I was stuffed after eating it. maybe just half of one next time?
usually this would just be a "side" to my huge meal..
but nope..
it was more than plenty..

only 81 to go!
woohoo!!
mkay.. so here's my plan today.. as always.. feel free to tell me what I'm gonna do wrong lol..
I am doing Body for life and mixing it with my Weight Watchers..
so far, it's been simple to do.. they kinda blend well together..
2 hard boiled eggs (more protein for me yay) 4 weight watchers p+
45 cal bread with nutella.. mmmmmm 4p+
homemade "taco" soup.. it has beans, corn, tomatoes and taco seasoning.. 4 P+
green beans 0 p+
greek yogurt 2p+
protien bar 5p+
veggie salad with balsamic vinegar 0P+
sound ok so far?
I haven't been that hungry either.. I guess knowing I can eat something in a couple hours.. it's a mental thing.. I know I am not going to starve to death.. maybe this is the structure I needed!

I think I am going to take a while to adjust to exactly what I need to eat every day..
having to have protein and carb and veggie balanced.. it's kinda hard.. specially being a tree hugger n all..

Day one

last night I had my super supportive hubster take "before" pics
and the good man that he is
didn't say a word
not one
word
about my side belly
or my double chins
or my donut rolls
or
anything for that matter..
he even asked that I take
"before" pics of him
"before" what? I have no clue..
he isn't a "dieter"
he's a couch sitter..
whatevs..
he's happy with his sports watching while I'm sweatin at the gym..
we make it work.
so..
I got my pics..
I got some good foods..
here's my plan for today..
Protein shake w/ fruit

slice of 45 cal whole wheat bread w/ nutella! mmmm I can't wait to try this stuff..

I was told to try this by a coworker.. he lifts weights.. pretty well from what I can see..
so..

but I am going to start next Monday.
so far I see a challenge making it for my tree hugger vegetarianism Weight Watcher's self..
but the stories and pictures make me soooo want to make it work!

Diet free for life book review

more than cake? maybe..
so..
here's a quicky review just in case you were thinkin of getting this book.
The diet-free for life book is basically about resetting your life.
It starts with simple, easy to answer questions about yourself. Where you want to go, what you want to do, what you want to avoid.. etc.
It really digs in deep with the mental aspect of weight loss and eating. There are step by step, day by day "projects" to keep you going for the process of losing weight. There are insightful quizzes that put you on the right track of where to go and exactly how to do it.
I especially love that there is a vegetarian section.. and it isn't small. Awesome!
I will have to get out my handy dandy notebook and skully pencil and take lots of notes, as there was so much info that I want to remember. Robert Ferguson breaks down weight loss in user friendly ways and makes it make sense. This book really reaches out to me as a human, not just a fat chick.
You can personalize the book for your needs and make it work.
I would recommend this book to almost every one I know. I would give it to anyone who has told me they don't know why they overeat, or they don't know how to lose weight. Anyone who has said they get stuck with motivation, planning, etc.. should get this book!
There are menu plans, recipes, exercise plans.. everything you need to be "diet-free"
and I truly think if you follow the plan, you wont feel like you're on a "diet"..

I am very easily amused.
I got kinda tired of the plain-o ww's paper trackers..
so I looked around my lil craft desk
and found this
a sparkly new Moon Goddess journal ready for me to track in!
see my cute lil skully pencil I use? Makes me smile :)
let's see what happens now.
after all..
I gained two frekin pounds last week.
I don't know what to do about that.
other than cry
and get mad
and be upset
at myself
I know that I couldn't exercise as well as usual, due to my leg pain..
but seriously?
ugh!
now I have 4.8 to go to get my damn 25 pound charm!
for fucks sakes!
anyway..
I'm over it
moving on..
being better this week is all I can do
I went to yoga Sunday.. loved it!
she cranks up the heat to at least 85 and away we go!
down dogs, triangles, cobras, planks.. etc.. it is such a great workout and soul clearing experience.. I wish I could do it every day!
so.. I may be only a little bit lighter.. but it's better than the alternative.. right?

But I finally jumped on the bandwagon of cheese n maters.

First I took two thin slices of french bread, fresh from my local bakery.. yumo!
added some thinly sliced mozarella
a few mater slices
some fresh basil from my window (I'm a gardener like that yano?)
waited a few minutes.. while cooking the hubs a frozen pizza..
drinkin a diet coke...

all for around 7P+! seriously..

What a bummer and a month with no fast food?
the hubs gave me his ipod touch.. I handed mine down to my teenager..and so on..
but I had the awesome Nike+ app.. so I could use the pedometer, the workout tracker thinkabajig.. and sync it on my puter..
it was awesome!
but the new Ipod touch.. doesn't have it!
well.. it does.. but I have to buy
this..
which is around $20
I don't really mind.. but I really have to have one for the app to even start..
I wanted to go make a few playlists for running, walking, ellipticalling, stairmastering.. etc..
but it wont let me do that.. ugh!

anyone know where I can get a Nike + sensor for cheap.. free is better!
Me n the hunkaman hubs decided we would go a whole month with no fast food. none.
this may sound easy for most people. but we have all kinds of excuses for eating out.
I get busy and don't always have time to cook dinner.
I haven't had time to get to the grocery store for lunches..

after a meltdown from the youngest daughter for not buying her mcd's.. seriously.. there were tears and lots of crying..
yeah.. over food..

crap.
we decided to be the parents.
and no fast food
for a month.
it's gonna be hard.. but worth it
to show my kids
they can be healthy
and eat yummy food at home
and I am going to be challenged to cook.

whew
well.. I lost the pound and a halfish I gained the last two weeks being lazy.. lol..
I am back down to the lowest point I've been in a loooong time!
it feels goooood..
so this week..
I had hoped to get back on the exercise train.. hard core..
but my new tatt is giving me problems..
my leg is swollen and sore!
but hopefully tomorrow will be better and I can get back on track!
